Christmas Cookies

Guess what? The secret is finally out, and we're thrilled to share with you our all-time favourite Christmas cookie recipe. These delectable walnut shortbread cookies, generously covered in powdered sugar, have been a closely guarded treasure, and we can't wait for you to experience the magic in your own kitchen.

Ingredients:

  • 250 gr unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar, plus extra for coating
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 cups of self raising  flour
  • 1 cup corn flour
  • 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 3 tablespoon orange juice

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).

2. Prepare the Walnuts:
Chop the walnuts into very small pieces and set aside.

3. Mix Butter and Sugar:
In a saucepan, mix together the melted butter and powdered sugar, walnuts,orange juice until combined.

4. Mix the dry ingredients:
In a large separate bowl, sift the flour, corn flour, cinnamon, nutmeg.

5. Incorporate the Dry Ingredients:
Gradually add the wet ingredients into the flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.

6. Shape the Cookies:

Embrace your inner artist! Feel free to shape the dough into circles, crescents, hearts, or any design that sparks your creativity.


Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between each.

7. Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.

8. Coat in Powdered Sugar:

 Place them on a wire rack to cool completely. Once its cooled, cover it in powdered sugar.

9. Enjoy the Secret Delight:

 Pair them with a cup of hot coffee or tea for the perfect treat.
